Do What Jesus Do

Another of my thought... it is from the blog that I wrote in myspace.com

I just want to share my feedback and the summary of the sermon from our Lead Pastor Paul Martin in Soul Survivor Church on last Sunday. If you want to listen the sermon. Please go to iTune store to download the sermon from Soul Survivor. It's FREE and put it on your iPOD (for those of you... iPod lovers). Pssst. Podcast... wooot!

In Matt 4, Jesus led by Holy Spirit to the desert more than 30 days. During the trip, He did not eat anything. He was tempted by the Devil for three times. 1st time, He was tempted for the food. He chose to fast instead of letting rock become bread. The point is fasting.
In modern Christianity, people do not talk about fasting that much cuz they think that it's not necessary to fast. There are few reasons behind:
1. We are christians. We are going to heaven. Why do we suffer those pain on this earth? God doesn't like to see us to suffer because he's been there and done that. He came to rescue us.
2. We all love food. We all need food to survivor and to live on. Food can satisfy us and give comfort to us spiritually and physically.

Here, we see Jesus fasting. Don't we keep saying, "What Jesus would do"/"Do what Jesus do" around the church"? We all need to learn to fast eventually because Jesus was showing the example of fasting. We are all Jesus Freaks... Jesus' followers. There are few reason that fasting is good to us,

1. So that we know how hard that Jesus was going through and we remembered his sacrifice. We appreciate Him more. Give thanks to the Lord and our God & King.
2. See how weak is our body. Human body is nothing. We can die in anytime, anywhere and any situations. We are just like ants...that small.
3. See how much we rely on food and how strong of our flesh and soul are.
4. Pray for others and yourself.
5. Good for your body. Extend your endurance.

It's radical, isn't it? Be a radical follower of Jesus Christ.

What is the biggest miracle?

The following thought was back in November 19, 2005.

Saturday, November 19, 2005
In this week, I have been thinking something very interesting. Ever since I got Soul Survivor 2005 Live CD, I listen the CD every sec when I work in Dennis' Dad's company. One of the songs touches me and somehow stimulates me. The chorus of the song, "Turn My Face", is the following,

Oh Jesus decides you'll never be the same
I'm changed ever more
Your sacrifice is the key to let others come
You did once more.

Do you know what is the biggest miracle in the whole world? It's not you see a missionary or a pastor to heal somebody during the trip or conference.

On Wednesday (Nov 16, 2005), I had a fellowship with my mentor, Pastor Marc.(I've known him personally for 6 years even though we were/are in different churches and still now.) Actually, we went to San Gabriel after work to have some fellowship with young adults over there. I just wanted to hang out with him and wanted to check out young adult in his group. I wasn't paying attention the whole time because young adults were talking about their relationship problems and stuff something like that. That week, I've been completely thinking about the song, "Turn My Face". The song is just so weird... echoing in my brain for the WHOLE WEEK ... EVERY SEC and MINUTE! As I said before, I wasn't paying attention until Pastor Marc mentioned about the biggest miracle in our life. It is just inspired me so much and I continued to think about it until he finished the fellowship.

The biggest miracle is that you are changed by Jesus Christ...Your Life Changed! You are changed from one side to the other side. It's completely radical. You are the one that HE wants you to be.

In one of Chris Tomlin interviews with Worshiptogether.com about the song, Arriving, you know what Chris Tomlin said about what he wants to be? He said, "You know, at 40 , I want to be the one that prepares the way for the Lord. I want to prepare myself."

Guys and Gals... doesn't matter from NLCC Youth to Soul Survivor Church Youth, what do you think? What is the Biggest Miracle meaning to you? What is the Biggest Miracle that you've seen? Please show me some of your insights? feedback? Build me up! and Pump me up! This is what church for. This is what Brothers and Sisters for... to build one and another up!

Selection of my pictures in my Profile

Hmmm, I finally figured out how to add a picture in blogspot.com Somehow I can't view my picture which was linked from my free webhosting space. Ahhhh, there was a trick in eblog. Anyway, I am still thinking about which picture that I should choose for my profile. The one that I raced with my RX7 or the one that I attended my classmates graduation or the one looks like me in an animate, Initial D. Anyway, I can't believe that I actually bring this here. None of them are related to the topic of the entire forum (blog).
